Principal’s Message | Dr Michael Carroll

Dear Members of the Terrace Family,

It is hard to believe that the end of the year is here. We will conclude the school year with our Farewell liturgy, which is scheduled to commence at noon tomorrow. The students will be dismissed following the liturgy.

The year has certainly presented us with challenges and unique situations to navigate, but it has also provided plenty of positive opportunities. What has been very evident is the unwavering support and engagement of all those within the Terrace Family. In both the good and challenging times, we have worked in partnership to ensure that the Gentlemen of Terrace could experience the best holistic educational opportunities possible.

Over recent weeks, I have announced several College, House and co-curricular student leaders. Today it is my pleasure to announce the Cultural Captains for 2022. They are all fine young men, and I am confident they will lead their respective activities with great distinction. I congratulate the following students:

Chess
  • Adrian Jesuthasan - Captain
Music
  • Eddie Heffernan – Captain
  • Lachlan Wood – Vice Captain
Debating
  • Thomas Nunn-Rutledge – Captain
  • Thomas Musgrave – Vice Captain

Congratulations to Year 12 student Ethan Lewin, who won the Best Art Film category with his film She's Going To Be Late at the recent Bond University Film and Television Awards. Ethan was also a finalist in four other categories.

While the students finish lessons tomorrow, I am aware that many will remain engaged over the Christmas holiday break through co-curricular training and camps. I wish all those involved in these activities the very best during the break. I also thank the many staff, coaches, parents and caregivers involved in these activities.

Next week, the staff will remain at the College to complete marking and reporting and commence preparations for the 2022 school year. Reports will be available online from 9am on Tuesday 7 December, and the Year 12 ATAR results will be released on Friday 17 December.

Finally, for this year, I thank all families for their contribution and support throughout 2021. I wish you all a happy, holy and restful Christmas. I am very much looking forward to reconnecting with you all in January 2022.

God Bless and Merry Christmas.
