Patron Saint - St Joseph
The Christian Brothers selected the name 'Joseph' for the College quite deliberately. Joseph's example of love and humility serves as inspiration to the Terrace Family.
St Joseph is often referred to as the “humble carpenter”. This is a reminder that he was a real person, with real opportunities and struggles, but something extraordinary happened to him. Joseph was asked to be the foster-father of Jesus and the husband of Mary. This was a great responsibility - raising a child who was not his own and who is the Son of God.
St Joseph is the silent figure of the three persons in the Holy Family. However, how he responded to the call of God, proves that St Joseph, after Jesus himself, is the greatest man to imitate in our daily lives because it is what he did, not what he said, that makes him a Holy man.
St Joseph followed the path of humility, the path of strength and gentleness, the path of faith and courage, a path of love.
Each year on 19 March, we pause and gather as a Terrace Family to celebrate the Feast of St Joseph, Patron Saint of our College, who keeps watch over us as our protector.
