2024 Sport Wrap | Mr Mitch Edwards
As we conclude the 2024 sporting calendar, it is a perfect time to reflect on the breadth and success of the programs we have offered our young Gentlemen of Terrace throughout the year. We extend our sincere gratitude to our Sports Directors, who have been truly exceptional in their unwavering commitment to providing safe, competitive, and inclusive opportunities for all students.
It has been exciting to see continued growth in participation across our sporting activities, and I would like to commend our Sports Activities Coordinators for their tireless efforts. Their dedication has been invaluable in ensuring the success of our programs.
A major highlight to close the year was Year 5 student, Anton Mugaba’s record-breaking 100m sprint in the U10 GPS Track and Field, a performance that capped off a remarkable day. We also celebrated 13 first-place finishes across both Junior and Senior Athletics competitions. I congratulate Mr Anthony Hayward and his coaching staff for their hard work, which led to a well-deserved fifth-place finish for our Junior team and strong individual performances from our Senior athletes, who placed eighth overall.
As we look ahead to 2025, our focus shifts to the upcoming year, with Rowing, Volleyball, and Cricket already preparing for an action-packed Term 1.
Finally, I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to all our staff, Support Groups, coaches, and, most importantly, our students. Their dedication and passion have been key to making Terrace Sport such a success in 2024.
